About the Ringtone Maker
This free ringtone maker turns your favourite moment of a song, a voice message or a video into a ringtone for iPhone or Android. Open the file, move the 30-second selection to the chorus, listen, and download the ringtone ready to install. The file is decoded and encoded by your browser: it is never uploaded.
For iPhone, the tool creates an M4R file (AAC sound in an MP4 container, Apple's ringtone format). For Android, it creates an MP3, which every phone accepts; since iOS 26, iPhone also accepts MP3 ringtones of 30 seconds or less.
Key Features
- Waveform: click to place the selection, drag it, or adjust the Start and End handles; ±1 s and ±0.1 s buttons for precision.
- Right length: 30 s selected by default, one-click 15 / 20 / 25 / 30 s presets and a warning above the iPhone limits.
- Pleasant sound: fade in, fade out and volume normalisation so the ringtone is neither too quiet nor clipped.
- Preview: listen to the exact result, in a loop if you like, before downloading it.
How to Use the Tool
- Step 1: open a song (MP3, M4A, WAV, FLAC, OGG) or a video.
- Step 2: click the waveform where the passage starts, then press ▶ to listen and adjust Start and End.
- Step 3: keep or change the fades and the normalisation, then choose iPhone (.m4r) or Android (.mp3).
- Step 4: download the ringtone and follow the short guide to install it on your phone.
Common Use Cases
- Use the chorus of your favourite song as a ringtone.
- Give a family member or a colleague their own ringtone so you know who is calling.
- Make a notification or alarm sound from a voice memo or a funny video.
- Create the club anthem or a team chant as a ringtone for the whole team.
Tips & Best Practices
- iPhone length limits: 30 seconds for “Use as Ringtone” (iOS 26) and 40 seconds for an M4R synced from a computer; above that, the ringtone is refused.
- M4R needs an AAC encoder in the browser (Chrome or Edge on Windows and macOS, Safari). If it is not available, the iPhone option is disabled: use the MP3, which iOS 26 accepts, or open the page in another browser.
- Start on a beat: a selection that begins at the start of a bar sounds more natural; a 1-second fade in hides a rough start.
- Copyright: make ringtones from music you own, for your personal use.
Privacy & Security
The song or video is read and processed only in your browser: it is never uploaded, stored or analysed on a server, and the tool sends no data over the network. Reading media files relies on Mediabunny 1.62.1 (Mozilla Public License 2.0), MP3 encoding on lamejs 1.2.1 (LGPL), both served from this site.
