IDN (Internationalized Domain Name) allows domain names with Unicode characters from different languages.
Punycode is an ASCII encoding for IDN. It starts with "xn--".

Tips & Limitations
- Upper case is folded to lower case and characters are normalized (e.g. "Bücher" and "bücher" give the same result).
- Emoji domains are converted the way browsers do it, but IDNA2008 forbids emoji: most registries refuse them.
- Whether a script is accepted for registration depends on each registry's own rules (e.g. AFNIC for .fr).
