Privacy Policy

In short: the tools run in your browser and we never receive what you type into them. There are no accounts, no ads and no data resale. Visitor statistics are anonymous, cookie-free and self-hosted (Umami); Google Analytics is only enabled if you accept it.

1. Data controller

tinytoolweb.com is published and hosted by a private individual on a non-professional basis (see the legal notice). The publisher is the data controller for the processing described below, within the meaning of the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

2. What we do not collect

The text, files, images, numbers and other data you use in the tools are processed locally, in your browser. They are never sent to our server, stored or analyzed.

The site has no user accounts and shows no advertising.

3. Data we process

3.1 Server logs

Like any website, our server automatically logs each request: IP address, date and time, requested page, browser.

  • Purpose: keeping the site running and secure (detecting abuse and attacks).
  • Legal basis: legitimate interest (GDPR Article 6(1)(f)).
  • Retention: limited, with automatic deletion through log rotation (12 months at most).

3.2 Anonymous visitor statistics (Umami)

We measure traffic with Umami, an open-source tool running on our own server (stats.tinytoolweb.com).

  • Data: page visited, referring site, device, browser and operating system type, country, tool used. Umami sets no cookies, does not track visitors across sites and does not store IP addresses.
  • Purpose: producing anonymous traffic statistics to improve the site.
  • Legal basis: legitimate interest (GDPR Article 6(1)(f)). This measurement meets the consent-exemption conditions set by the French data protection authority (CNIL).
  • Retention: 25 months at most.
  • Recipient: none; the data stays on our server, in France.

3.3 Google Analytics (with your consent)

During a transition period, and only if you click “Accept” in the cookie banner, we use Google Analytics 4 to see which pages and tools are used.

  • Data: pages visited, visit duration, device and browser type, approximate country or city, referring site, tool used. Google Analytics 4 does not log IP addresses.
  • Purpose: understanding how the site is used in order to improve it.
  • Legal basis: your consent (GDPR Article 6(1)(a)), which you can withdraw at any time.
  • Retention: cookies last 13 months at most; data is kept by Google for the retention period set for the property.
  • Recipient: Google Ireland Ltd / Google LLC. Data may be transferred to the United States under the EU–U.S. Data Privacy Framework. See Google’s Privacy Policy.

If you refuse, no Google script is loaded and no analytics cookie is set. All tools remain fully usable.

3.4 Tools that call an external service

A few tools need an external service to work. They only call it when you use them, and the service then receives your IP address and the data strictly needed for the request:

  • What Is My IP: ipify and ipapi.co (your IP address, or the one you look up).
  • Weather Checker: OpenWeatherMap (the city you enter or, if you allow it, your approximate location).
  • Currency Converter: Frankfurter (none of your input is sent).
  • DNS Checker: Google Public DNS (the domain name you look up).

3.5 Donations

The “Donate” button opens PayPal’s website. We receive no payment details; PayPal applies its own privacy statement. If you make a donation, PayPal shares your name and email address with us, which we do not use for any other purpose.

3.6 Emails

If you email us, your message and email address are only used to reply to you. They are kept for the duration of the exchange and deleted no later than 3 years after the last contact.

4. Cookies and local storage

  • Umami statistics: no cookies.
  • Google Analytics cookies (optional): only set after you consent, for 13 months at most.
  • Your browser’s local storage (necessary): light/dark theme, favorite tools, your cookie choice (kept for 6 months) and, for some tools, your settings or to-do list. This information stays on your device and is never sent to us. You can clear it from your browser settings.

5. Your rights

You have the right to access, rectify, erase and restrict the processing of your data, to object to it, and to withdraw your consent at any time.

To exercise these rights, email contact@tinytoolweb.com. We reply within one month.

If you believe your rights are not being respected, you can lodge a complaint with the French data protection authority, the CNIL, or with the authority of your own country.

6. Security

The site is served over HTTPS only, with a strict Content Security Policy (CSP). The libraries used by the tools are hosted on our own server rather than loaded from third-party services.

7. Changes

This policy may change, for example if a new tool uses an external service. The last update date is shown at the top of this page.
