About DNS Checker

DNS (Domain Name System) translates domain names to IP addresses. This tool performs DNS lookups using public DNS resolvers.

Features

  • Multiple Record Types: A, AAAA, MX, TXT, CNAME, NS, SOA, CAA
  • TTL display: remaining cache time of each record on the resolver
  • Clear errors: non-existent domain (NXDOMAIN), resolution failure (SERVFAIL), alias chains (CNAME)
  • International domains: IDN names are converted to Punycode automatically

How to Use

  • Step 1: Enter a domain (e.g. example.com, or _dmarc.example.com for a DMARC TXT record)
  • Step 2: Choose the record type
  • Step 3: Click "Check DNS Records" or press Enter

Record Types

  • A: IPv4 address
  • AAAA: IPv6 address
  • MX: Mail server records
  • TXT: Text records (SPF, DKIM, DMARC, site verification)
  • CNAME: Canonical name (alias)
  • NS: Name servers
  • SOA: Start of authority (primary server, serial, timers)
  • CAA: Certificate authorities allowed to issue SSL/TLS certificates

Tips & Limitations

  • Results come from a single resolver (Google Public DNS, dns.google): this is a lookup tool, not a worldwide propagation checker.
  • A recently changed record may still show its old value until its TTL expires.

Privacy

The domain name you enter is sent by your browser directly to Google Public DNS (dns.google) to perform the query. TinyToolWeb does not receive or store it.
